Baby Mario and Baby Luigi are being delivered by a stork to their parents. However, the evil Kamek (Magikoopa) intercepts the stork, kidnapping Baby Luigi. Baby Mario falls to Yoshi’s Island. Yoshi finds baby Mario and decides to help him rescue his brother. Together, they travel through 6 worlds (each with 8 levels) to reach Baby Luigi and defeat Kamek and Bowser. The story is simple but charming. - Classic Gameplay Mechanics:
You play as Yoshi, carrying baby Mario on your back. Yoshi can eat enemies and turn them into eggs. You can aim eggs in 8 directions and throw them. Eggs can defeat enemies, hit switches, and solve puzzles. Yoshi can also flutter jump (hover briefly) and ground pound. Baby Mario mechanic: if Yoshi gets hit, baby Mario falls off and floats in a bubble. A timer appears; if you don’t catch him before the timer reaches zero, you lose a life. The game has a scoring system: each level has 5 flowers (hidden), 20 red coins (collect them all), and 30 stars (collect many). Getting 100% in each level unlocks secret levels and bonuses.
